Abstract
The Definitional Grading Calculator has been created to reduce the time required to determine grades using this grading system. After the teachers enter their grade definitions (i.e., minimum criteria for each grade), student names and scores, student grades are determined immediately.
An instructional manual that accompanies the Definitional Grading Calculator contains explanations on how to customize grade tables and use each facet of the calculator. The Definitional Grading Calculator is available on-line for a nominal fee.

This simple program is a time saving tool developed for teachers who use the definitional grading system. Teachers, in any discipline, at the elementary, middle school, high school, and college levels could potentially use the Definitional Grading Calculator.

The Definitional Grading Calculator differs from most grading software because it is based on a definitional grading system. This calculator is an EXCEL application that assigns grades based on preset definitions of minimal performance determined by the user. There are currently no other grading programs available that allow teachers to assign grades quickly based on definitions of minimal performance for each grade in two or more components.
